Miami University

Oxford is best known for being home to Miami University (MU), the nation's 10th oldest public university. Summer Music Festival

Each summer, Oxford hosts a concert series in Uptown Memorial Park. This is known as the Oxford Summer Music Festival. The concerts take place weekly throughout June, July, and August. Every concert in the series is unique, featuring a new local or touring band. So, whether you like jazz, classical, rock, or blues, there is sure to be show for you in Oxford. Best of all, every concert is completely free. So simply show up to Uptown Memorial Park on any Thursday throughout the summer and you can expect to enjoy a great show.

Kinetics Festival

Get geared up for the annual Oxford Kinetics Festival. Each April, this festival celebrates all things creative, unique, and can move without a motor. The festival features a wide variety of crazy competitions, wacky workshops, and exciting exhibitions. It all kicks off with what is known as "The Scramble". With the rules and instruction announced immediately before the race, the competitors then must build a self-powered contraption to get them through an obstacle course. They day continues with lots of family-friendly activities that are sure to get your brains working, from Rube Goldberg machines to real life robots.
