Owings Mills is situated just outside Baltimore, Maryland, and has a population of around 20,000 people. It is a very popular community from which people commute into Baltimore, and there's excellent mass transit. The city is rapidly growing town so expect both old and new build architecture and plenty of outdoor space.

Plenty of Running Room

The town center is actually an enclosed shopping mall, and with its 200 stores, it is very convenient. There are ample outdoor recreational activities with a number of good golf courses and the 322 acre Northwest Regional Park, located on the western edge of the city is fantastic. You'll find plenty of room for most sports. For cultural activities, Baltimore is only eight miles away and offers an array of museums and other venues.

Even if you aren't settled into your Owings Mills apartment, you gotta eat. The best diner in town is called New Towne. It's open all hours and have a huge menu that won't disappoint even for a middle of the night snack. Sushi places are a hit with top rated ones like Edo and Yuki, You'll also find many other good ethnic cuisine places as well as seafood and American style. CJ's is sort of a hole in the wall place but locals love it for their Maryland crabs. It's not fancy but the food is fantastic.

Many Sweet Bars

At night, many of the restaurants in town double as watering holes. Linwood has a top notch bar and very friendly service. Others with good bar scenes are CJs, The Artful Gourmet Bistro, Cibo Bar and Grill and Captain Harvey's. There is the Hops Bar and Brewery which is certainly worth a visit too. For live music and dancing, you'll want to go into Baltimore, which will be easy driving from your Owings Mills apartment.
