The best places for being outdoors with pets in Oakdale are the city's parks. Although Oakdale isn't home to any off-leash dog parks, residents can bring their pets to Tanner Lake Park and Richard Walton Memorial Park as long as they are kept on leash. Neighboring towns have many more park options, including Beaver Lake Park, Maplewood Nature Center, and Battle Creek Park. One of the largest green spaces in the area is the Municipal Forest to the south.
