North Miami Beach is home to some unusual and beautiful landmarks. The St. Bernard de Clairvaux Church is a genuine Medieval Spanish monastery built in the 12th century. Reassembled in Florida stone by stone following its dismantling and shipment, the monastery remains one of the jewels of the city. Another hallmark sight in the city is the Fulford-By-The-Sea Monument. This historic fountain was one of the largest in the state during the 1920s. Sadly, the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926 prevented more fountains from being constructed, but this lovely monument lives on. These two structures offer a magnificent look into early North Miami Beach history.
