University of Delaware

The University of Delaware is often simply shortened to just UD. It has satellite campuses throughout the state of Delaware, in cities such as Lewes and Wilmington. The school is fairly large for being in such a small state, with over 20,000 students attending as of 2012. UD gets significant state funding for research purposes, and for this reason is considered a research university comparable to high end schools in the Ivy League. The University has multiple colleges, including the College of Health Sciences and the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.
