Neptune City's Histor

Prior to European colonization, the land that is now known as Neptune City was inhabited by native Lenni Lenape people, who made use of the area's easy access to seafood resources provided by the Shark River and Atlantic Ocean. These features are what eventually drew white settlers, who had taken over the area by 1623, when it was considered the property of the Dutch West India Company. The Neptune City area has been known by many names throughout the centuries, but it was given its current name in the late 1800s when it officially split off from neighboring Neptune Township.

Casual Italian at Bru

New Jersey has long been associated with Italian-Americans and Neptune City locals are probably grateful for this group's prevalence in the state thanks to Bruno's, a popular local restaurant. Highly rated by local online reviewers in Neptune City, this casual spot serves some of the best pizza and sub sandwiches in the area. Customers rave about Bruno's Italian bread, which many would agree is a make-or-break component of any sandwich. The restaurant's vast menu, both for sandwiches and pizza, also seem to be popular with customers, who cite Bruno's unusual offerings like breakfast pizza and chicken cutlet sandwiches as particular favorites.
