Time to Shop

Whether your plan is just to browse or you are on the hunt for the perfect gift, Muscatine has five distinct shopping areas that are sure to satisfy your needs. If mall shopping is your style, be sure to check out Muscatine Mall on Park Avenue, home to over 30 shops and services for the ultimate in convenience. For a more unique shopping experience, head downtown and find shopping bliss on the waterfront. Explore the historic Pearl Plaza, full of upscale clothing boutiques, specialty wine stores, and gift shops, as well as ice cream and coffee shops for when you need to take a breather.

Events and Celebratio

Every time you turn around in Muscatine, there is always a fun event or celebration going on to entertain all ages. Enjoy the sweet sounds of local, family-friendly musicians at an outdoor summer concert held every second Sunday of the month from June until September. Racing fans will take delight in the NASCAR Stock Car Races at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds. In the winter, you will not want to miss out on the annual Holiday Stroll. Walk freely in the downtown shopping district to browse and shop for holiday gifts, enjoy live music, and sip a mug of sweet hot chocolate.

Outdoor Fun

One of the most popular attractions in Muscatine is the Butterfly Garden. Stroll through one acre of carefully-chosen, gorgeous wildflowers that are known for attracting a variety of native butterfly and hummingbird species. When the weather gets hot, grab a swimsuit and cool off at The Mississippi Mist interactive water fountain. The fountain's main feature is a center geyser that shoots water over 30 feet in the air. It is surrounded by four water cannons and four mist jets, all with the goal to get you soaked. While it is pretty enough during the day, the fountain's evening lighting is absolutely stunning.
