About Murray, UT
Murray is in Salt Lake County, 357 miles from the bright lights of Las Vegas. It is on the small side, with a population of about 35,000. Despite its relatively modest population, there is plenty going on in and around Murray. It is home to a Rugby Stadium, a library, a playhouse, and a nearby historical fort. Popular Parks

Murray and the surrounding area are known for a spectacular array of city parks. The Murray Jordan River Parkway is a system of natural trails running along the river. The trails connect the Arrowhead, Germania, Walden, and Winchester Parks. The parks are both human and equestrian friendly, and have picnic areas and canoe launch sites. Murray City Park is the largest of the community parks, featuring the historic wooden sculpture of Chief Washakie at its main entrance. This popular local park also has an outdoor amphitheater, arboretum, ice rink, assortment of athletic fields, and an excellent network of hiking trails.

Plenty of Performance

To be such a small city, Murray boasts an assortment of quality music, art, and theater venues. The Murray Cultural Arts Program funds citywide arts-in-education projects as well as workshops, camps, and competitions for the local community. The Desert Star Playhouse Performing Arts Group takes the stage at Murray's historic Iris Theater. The Murray Symphony Orchestra makes beautiful music with musicians of all proficiency levels. The city's Ballet Centre features dazzling performances as well as training classes. If you want lessons, put on your dancing shoes and go to the Murray Arts Center for ballroom or modern dance lessons.
