Walking and biking is popular on the trails, particularly the newly developed The Multi-Use Trail System, but it is not recommended on the roads. Moreno Valley is served by the Riverside Transit Agency, which offers 36 local routes and 8 express bus routes through Riverside County. The service area covers 2,500 square miles, which is the second-largest service area in the United States.

<p>Moreno Valley is accessible to camping, fishing and hiking at nearby scenic destinations like Box Springs Mountain, Diamond Valley Lake and Lake Perris. The local parks have also developed The Multi-Use Trail System, a series of recreational and non-automotive paths throughout the Moreno Valley. When the system is complete, it will feature 56 miles linking the city trails with other regional trails such as the Lake Perris Recreational Area and Box Springs Regional Park.</p>

Perris Auto Speedway

<p>Moreno Valley is a short drive from Perris Auto Speedway, one of the premiere dirt track facilities in the United States. The speedway runs all types of racecars from USAC/CRA Sprint Cars to affordable American Factory Stocks. The half-mile clay track holds events year-round in its located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds.</p>
