Montrose Museums

Experience the history of Montrose by visiting one of the museums in the area. The Montrose County Historical Museum was founded in 1964 and has a vast collection reflecting the pioneering and settling of Western Colorado. During your tour, you will view a caboose, stagecoach, and other equipment. At the Museum of the Mountain West, over 500,000 artifacts are on display. These artifacts date back to the 1840s and will allow you to view the old west in a way you never have before. Both of these museums will educate you and help to reconstruct the history of the area.
