High Tor State Park

The beauty of nature and exceptional views of the Hudson River can be found any time of year at High Tor State Park. The park is known for the basil mountain-mint that grows there, a rare plant that grows in very few places anywhere on Earth. Hiking is a very popular activity at the park, with its lengthwise trails providing locals with a good workout and exposure to nature. The Catskills Mountains' Long Path intersects the park as well. If you do not feel like hiking, you may enjoy the park's swimming pool and picnic area.

Community Synagogue o

Monsey has a sizable Jewish community, many of whom worship at the Community Synagogue of Monsey. Ever since its founding in the early 1950s, the synagogue has been an integral part of the Jewish community. The synagogue has a number of programs that serve the community, including a Youth Program to help children and a weekly newsletter-form D'var Torah aimed at educating the youth of the synagogue. The synagogue is host to the Kollel Learning Institute, a school that teaches Torah and Talmudic study. The school and entire synagogue benefit from the leadership of Rabbi Moshe Tendler, distinguished scholar and expert in Jewish bioethics.
