The beauty of nature and exceptional views of the Hudson River can be found any time of year at High Tor State Park. The park is known for the basil mountain-mint that grows there, a rare plant that grows in very few places anywhere on Earth. Hiking is a very popular activity at the park, with its lengthwise trails providing locals with a good workout and exposure to nature. The Catskills Mountains' Long Path intersects the park as well. If you do not feel like hiking, you may enjoy the park's swimming pool and picnic area.
