Plentiful Parks

Since Mishawaka is primarily residential, parks and outdoor activities are in no short supply here. Central Park has lighted tennis courts and baseball diamond as well as a basketball and volleyball court. Grab a partner and head there for some friendly competition. Canoe portage is also available if you are ready to ride the river. To see an artistic park, head to Kate’s Garden, home of the sculpture “The Educators” by Tuck Langland. Thousands of fragrant flowers and trees fill this park and its winding brick path. In the fall, test your wits against the famous Leininger Farms corn maze.

Fabulous Foods

Whatever you are in the mood to eat, chances are you will have no problem finding it in Mishawaka. Spicy sushi or terrific tofu is waiting at Zing Japanese Fusion. For a sizzling steak and bottle of cold brew, Dive right in at Doc Pierce’s Restaurant. Rise and shine for breakfast at Macadoo’s Family Restaurant, with some of the best biscuits and gravy in the city. This restaurant is also famous for its breakfast burrito challenge for customers. If you need something gluten free for your meal, Scotty’s Brewhouse has several tasty options from which to choose.

No End of Nighttime F

If life has you signing the blues, go let someone else take control for a while at Midway Tavern. They have a great blues band and plenty of dancing. Bar Louie has a cool beer garden for those hot nights and a great draft and bottle selection. Younger and older crowds alike flock to the Phoenix Bar & Grill for live rock and great bar fare. Thursday is open mic night if you want to take your act to the stage. Cue up and take your best shot at Golden Q Family Billiards if you are looking for a friendly game of pool.
