A Music-making City
The sweet sounds of the symphony can fill your ears when you attend a performance at the Middletown Symphony Orchestra. With performances ranging from songs from musicals to Mozart, you will celebrate an evening of auditory excellence. Enjoy the performances of young musicians at the beginning of their symphonic adventures with concerts from the Middletown Youth Symphony. If you prefer to hear some grinding guitar solos, nearby Cincinnati is home to the U.S. Bank Arena. This popular concert venue offers plenty of shows by all the hottest rock and pop acts of yesterday and today.
Keeping Nature Compan
Explore the local flora and fauna at Armbruster Nature Preserve. This 5.8-acre preserve is home to wildflowers and wooded trails. Enjoy a peaceful walk through the preserve, and see how many birds you can spot. There is also Smith Park, which has a playground and a sprinkler water park area, and is perfect for kids. Ducks and geese will quack a friendly hello to you as you stroll through the trails here, and scampering squirrels will keep you company as you walk. Stop off at the lake and enjoy some quiet time gazing into its shimmering surface while you are there.
Adventures in Arts
A wide world of exhibits is waiting at the Middletown Arts Center. Watercolor paintings and American Impressionists are home here, at least until the next exhibit comes along. See the works of tomorrow’s artists today with the center’s student shows. To broaden your artistic horizons, take in one of the many diverse performances at the Middletown Lyric Theater. Heartwarming, and sometimes heartbreaking, plays are part of the theater’s schedule. Have no worries if you do not have time for dinner before a show; they have dinner theater performances during select weekends. Enjoy a delicious buffet-style dinner, and then settle in for the performance.
