A fine example of the natural beauty that can be found in the Middle River area is Gunpowder Falls State Park. The park is a massive 18,000 acres and includes numerous options for enjoying the great outdoors of Maryland. You can find the Torrey C Brown Trail, which extends for 21 miles along an abandoned railway running through old growth forests and along the water. Or check out the Hammerman Area, which is ideal for picnics, playgrounds, and swimming. For the fisherman in the family, the Dundee Creek Marina offers rowboat rentals, a boat ramp, and a marina store to stock up on bait.
Fresh From the Bay
There are other benefits to living right on the bay than the scenery. Namely, the seafood. The nearby ocean offers many offshore delicacies as well. Middle River locals love to get their fix at Carson's Creekside Restaurant and Lounge. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is casual, and the seafood is fresh. A favorite is the Crabby Fries: a plate of fries topped with crab meat, cheese, and a creamy sauce. Or the Crab Pretzel, which is a giant soft pretzel covered in crab meat and cheese baked in the oven. Also, do not leave without trying the mussels.
