  • I've got dogs. What are the best places in Mason for being outdoors with pets?

Situated next to the 10-acre City Park on Old Irwin Simpson Road, Schappacher Park Dog Run is a small, fenced-in local dog park. This charming, half-acre off-leash park provides plenty of room for your favorite furry friend to run around and play, as well as a water spout, disposal bags, and trash cans. Dog owners will appreciate the park's benches and large oak trees which provide ample shaded areas so they can sit back and relax while their pups run around the park. After your pooch is worn out from all the playtime, head over to the local Chipotle to grab some lunch on their dog-friendly patio.

  • What's the weather like in Mason?

The weather in Mason is seasonal. Summer temperatures average in the 70's and 80's, while winters bring cooler temperatures in the 30's and 40's. Spring and fall are the most temperate seasons, with comfortable average temperatures in the low- to mid-60's. The area sees about 43" of rain and 20" of snow each year with the most precipitation falling during the month of May. Take advantage of the seasonal weather and head to Mason's Beach Waterpark during the summer and nearby North Slope for some snowside activity in the wintertime.

  • Are there any quiet neighborhoods in Mason?

Yes. Socialville is one of Mason's quieter neighborhoods. With mostly single-family, medium-sized homes, this predominantly owner-occupied neighborhood lies on the southwestern corner of Mason. Socialville is also suburban in terms of population density, a factor that may contribute to its tranquil nature.
