Maplewood Neighborhood Preserves

Maplewood was one of the first cities in Minnesota to buy land and declare is as open space that will remain undeveloped. The Maplewood Neighborhood Preserves are places throughout the city that were set aside by the citizens for public hiking, bird watching and other outdoor activities. The 14 Neighborhood Preserves range in size from 5 acres to 46 acres and many of them have footpaths and mowed trails. The headquarters of these preserves is the Maplewood Nature Center. The center has hired naturalists to coordinate educational and volunteer programs for the preserves.

Maplewood Mall

Maplewood Mall is the two-story shopping center in Maplewood. It is an important retail area for Maplewood as well as surrounding communities. It is an impressive collection of over 130 stores, 11 restaurants, a child play area and a Venetian carousel in the center court. Maplewood Mall is located two blocks from Highway 694 and is served by Metro Transit buses through the Maplewood Mall Transit Center.
