Yes, Lufkin is home to two museums of note. The Museum of East Texas, for one, is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is education through exhibitions of art and the humanities. The second, the Texas Forestry Museum, tells the story of Texas forests through three galleries, outdoor exhibits, and an urban wildscape trail. Located 30 minutes to the north, Nacogdoches is also home to several museums. These include the Nacogdoches Sterne-Hoya Museum, the Stone Fort Museum, and the Durst Taylor Museum.
