The Valentine Re-Mail
Loveland is home to the Valentine Re-Mailing Program. This program is a novel approach to showing a sweetheart that they are loved. The idea that Valentines are from Loveland, or the land of love, adds a romantic flair to the holiday. Originally started as a way to promote the city, the program grew into an internationally recognized tradition. Volunteers from the city and outside offer their time to hand sort, stamp, and add an annually selected verse to each valentine. The valentines are then sent to the intended loved one, with the original sender’s name, but with the Loveland address.
Benson Sculpture Gard
The arts are a clear love of the people living in Loveland. From the Valentine program to the arts tours, this can be seen. The arts can be further enjoyed when visiting local spots, such as the Benson Sculpture Garden. This garden is the resting place for 300-plus sculptures and assorted pieces of artwork. The sculptures touch on various aspects of life, including a circle of children playing together, detailed renditions of residents past, and various animals such as the fox and the bull. Each carries a unique name including "The Chase," "Gorilla," "Sarah," "Night Shadows," or "Heart and Sole."
