Los Gatos is a great place to live and everyone knows it. Apartments in this city don’t come cheap and many of the houses in the area are worth more than a million dollars. Why do people pay through the teeth to live in the City of Cats? This place is absolutely gorgeous. In town, you’ll find plenty of parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields, as well as incredible trails for biking and hiking. The area is also surrounded by state and county parks, preserves, and open spaces. Los Gatos is at the base of the Sierra Azule Mountains—not far from the Santa Cruz Mountains—so there are acres and acres of mountains to bike through, hike around, and enjoy. From downtown Los Gatos, you can hop on your bike and head off down a 20-mile trail through the Santa Cruz Mountains. The city itself is also incredibly cycle-friendly; you’ll see many bicyclists riding around town. Between the parks and the recreational activities offered by the city, you’ll have no trouble staying active in Los Gatos. The city even has a dog park so that your furry, tail-wagging friend will get to enjoy the beauty of Los Gatos as well.

  • Are there big sporting events that people in Los Gatos enjoy attending?

Los Gatos isn't home to any major professional or collegiate sports teams, but San Jose, only 15 minutes down the road, is. Hockey is your best bet for big sporting events in San Jose, since the only professional sports team to play in San Jose are the ever popular San Jose Sharks. Although the team has never won the Stanley Cup, they manage to sell out almost all of their home games. However, the Sharks have won the Pacific Division 5 times. The Sharks play at the HP Pavilion at San Jose.
