Local Night Life

While there are hot clubs and bars throughout New York City, many prefer to head over to the very local L.I.C Bar. This bar has been around for over 100 years, bringing locals back time and time again with its various theme nights and laid back atmosphere. Some nights it plays host to local performers and other nights bar goers can take part in a trivia tournaments. If you just want a place where you can get a few drinks, hang out with friends, and get your groove on, then this local bar is exactly what you are looking for.

Private School Educat

Long Island City is home to many public schools, but the area is also known for its religious-based private schools, with four located within the Astoria community. The Immaculate Conception School is a kindergarten through 8th grade school, and is utilized by many of the Catholic families who reside in the area. Once students leave Immaculate Conception, they often transfer to St. John's Prep for their high school education. The school was founded in 1870 and is still a thriving source of education in the community. Residents can also look into Saint Demetrios and El-Ber Islamic School as private educational choices for their children.
