Lexington Park Parks

Patuxent Naval Air Station isn’t the only place in Lexington Park where you can get some training in. The St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks department has numerous parks and athletic leagues. Take the John G. Lancaster Park, for instance. This 100-acre park has enough facilities to keep the whole family satisfied (and free from arguing for a few hours). Got hoop skills? Hit up one of the two basketball courts. Want to play an intense game of soccer, football, or lacrosse with your new friends? The park has three regulation-sized fields. While you’re here, why not take your pooch down to the dog park, go for a hike, or play a game of disc golf? If you don’t get your sports fix at a town park, you can always join an athletic league. Show your neighbors what you’ve got in roller hockey, kickball, or basketball. The city also hosts athletic events throughout the year, such as the Juneteenth/USCT Memorial Festival 5. Rent one of Lexington Park’s fine apartments and you’ll be one lean, mean, disc golf-playing machine.

Musicals & More

Want to make friends outside of the kickball league? Lexington Park has great events and cultural attractions throughout the year. Why not take a break from playing and enjoy a performance of Annie produced by The Newtowne Players. If you’re feeling brave, you can even audition for the part of Miss Hannigan or Daddy Warbucks. You might also meet some new friends at the St. Mary's County Oyster Festival. With live music, carnival rides, shucking contests, and more, this is one event that will have you out of your shell in no time.
