Set in the midst of the state's most beautiful lakes, there is always something new to explore in the waters of Leesburg. There are multiple little lakes throughout the town, but the main attraction for outdoor adventurers is Lake Griffin. Leesburg has four beaches on the shores of Lake Griffin, which are perfect for those looking to swim in the lake's fresh water, take the boat out for a day, or go fishing. In fact, Lake Griffin has some of the best fishing year round, with especially great bass fishing on the north end of the lake.

For students just starting off their college career, Lake-Sumter is a great place to begin. With approximately 8,000 enrolled students per semester, this community college offers several Associate and Bachelor's programs in the field of liberal arts. Best of all, the college offers a unique 2+2 program in which students can study for two years at Lake-Sumter, and then continue their studies at the University of Central Florida or St. Leo University until their Bachelor studies are complete. In fact, each student that graduates Lake-Sumter with an Associates degree is guaranteed acceptance to the University of Central Florida.

This festival is the largest three-day motorcycle and music event in the world. With six different beer tents and stages, however, Bikefest is also the perfect place for those that love classic rock and are looking to see a great concert.
