Local Talk

  • How is the nightlife in Lebanon?

As a city of 13,000 in northern New Hampshire, Lebanon doesn't have much of a nightlife. In fact, while some restaurants in town have bars, there is no place within Lebanon proper that serves just alcohol. West Lebanon, however, is home to a couple chain restaurants with bars, such as Chili's, Applebee's, and the Ninety Nine. It's also home to the Seven Barrel Brewpub. For more options, Concord lies 60 miles south of Lebanon.

  • Does Lebanon have a good school system?

Lebanon has a decent school system. Public education is primarily provided by the Lebanon School District. With seven schools serving about 2,000 students, this district was rated better than 58.3 percent of school districts in the New Hampshire and 67.0 percent of school districts in the country. There are also several private schools in the area.

  • How much are utilities in Lebanon?

Utilities in Lebanon cost, on average, 29 percent more than in the rest of the country. This might be due to Lebanon's climate, which features extreme weather on both ends: hot summers and very cold winters. Electricity, which will probably max out at $100 a month in the summer, should cost an average of about $75 a month. Gas, on the other hand, should cost around $100 a month. Thus, utilities in Lebanon should amount to about $175 to $200 a month, on average.
