Exploring History

League City has deep historical roots you can explore by visiting one of the many landmarks in the area. Stop by Galveston County Poor Farm, which was established in 1887. The farm spans over 213 acres and has been turned into a county park. Magnolia Creek Cemetery is the oldest in the area and contains the burials of the four families that first settled the area in the 1800s. Be sure to stop by the West Bay Common School Children’s Museum to take a trip back in time. The museum is actually a one-room schoolhouse that reflects education in the 19th century.
