Idlewild and Soakzone

During the warmer months of the year and hot summer days, many residents drive the short distance southeast of Latrobe to Idlewild and Soakzone. The combined amusement and water park has rides and attractions the whole family can enjoy. From roller coasters to water slides, families will find something to do from May through October when trick-or-treating at the park's Hallowboo takes over. Idlewild also has a fairy-tale themed area called Storybook Forest, geared towards give its younger visitors a more age appropriate experience. When it is time to eat, Idlewild offers a host of food vendors selling American classics like hot dogs, burgers, and pizza.

Keystone State Park

Residents of Latrobe do not have to drive very far to be able to enjoy the amazing wilderness that completely surrounds them. A quick trip to the north leads residents and visitors to the breathtaking Keystone State Park. Situated next to Keystone Lake, the park offers cabins, camping areas, and picnic pavilions that have restrooms and running water. For visitors who want to get out and enjoy a look around the area, there are two bike trails and several two-mile hiking trails, each showcasing Keystone State Park at its finest. Keystone Park truly is a nature lover's paradise.

Latrobe Country Club

Golf aficionados know very well who Arnold Palmer is in the world of clubs and balls. If you want to play golf on the same greens where he learned to play the game, the Latrobe Country Club is the place to go. Aside from the amazing greens, the club also has a dining area that serves everything from breakfast to desserts. For those wanting to work on a swing of a different kind, the tennis courts open at 9 and instructors are available upon reservation to help you with your game. The club also offers several membership types to fit individual needs.
