During the warmer months of the year and hot summer days, many residents drive the short distance southeast of Latrobe to Idlewild and Soakzone. The combined amusement and water park has rides and attractions the whole family can enjoy. From roller coasters to water slides, families will find something to do from May through October when trick-or-treating at the park's Hallowboo takes over. Idlewild also has a fairy-tale themed area called Storybook Forest, geared towards give its younger visitors a more age appropriate experience.
