About Largo, FL
The city of Largo is one of the largest in western Florida’s Pinellas County. It is usually considered part of the Tampa Bay metro area, which is one of Florida’s largest as well. The city has seen nominal growth in the past decade with their 2010 population count of 77,648 residents being up nearly 10,000 from their 2000 count. The city has long been known for its agricultural products, but recent developments have added numerous suburban divisions.
Getting Around in Largo, FL

Largo has multiple airports in the region that serve the city’s air travel needs. Both the Tampa International Airport and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport serve Largo, with significant traffic coming through both facilities. The county runs a busing system that the city of Largo participates in, called the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority. The PSTA offers affordable bus services throughout Pinellas County. Still, commuting by personal vehicle is popular and one of the easiest ways to get around town.

Largo Public Library

<p>The Largo Public Library is listed as one of Pinellas County's most frequented library facilities. Its annual circulation includes over 700,000 different books, movies, DVDs, CDs, videos, eBooks, audio materials, and other artifacts. The library has embraced technology, allowing for the temporary download of digital materials for use on a computer or electronic tablet. The library also has multiple art collections which are housed on site at the Rugg Financial Center and the Small Business Resource Center. In addition, several different educational programs and community events are offered every month.</p>

Pinellas County Heritage Village

<p>The Pinellas County Heritage Village is a historical location with multiple structures and artifacts dating back to the 1800s. Visitors are able to learn about the city of Largo's history and look at preserved buildings such as churches, barns, schools, train stations, and fire stations from the time period. With guides and volunteers, the village is able to teach visitors about the ways of the past, such as how doctors during the 1800s were able to help their patients with rudimentary medical tools.</p>

Largo Central Park

<p>Largo Central Park is located in, where else, Central Largo. The park has over 70 acres and has multiple fountains and playground amenities that set it apart from other parks in the area. Another part of what makes it attractive is that it is completely accessible to those in wheelchairs. There are several large pavilions on the park grounds in addition to the popular James S. Miles and Richard A. Leandri Military Court of Honor. Some of the playground facilities include a climbing forest, slides, a sand box, and a merry-go-round.</p>
