About Laredo, TX
Laredo is a southern Texas community with a truly authentic identity. Located on the border of Mexico and the United States, it is a flavorful city that has survived a long history of conflict and friendship between the two countries. Today, Laredo is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States and quite possibly the best place to experience Tex-Mex cuisine and Spanish speaking culture.
Getting Around in Laredo, TX

El Metro is Laredo’s bus system, offering a fleet of over forty-seven fixed route buses, two trolleys and eighteen demand-response \El Lift\ vans. However, despite its thorough transit service, Laredo is best navigated by car. The sprawling city covers such a wide area that it is easiest to get around by car. Countless drivers pass through Laredo every day on the well-known Pan American Highway, a road known to US citizens as I-35 that stretches from Central America to Canada.

Laredo Energy Arena

The Laredo Energy Arena is a first class, state-of-the-art multipurpose facility that has introduced affordable, family-oriented entertainment to the South Texas and Northern Mexico areas. This includes major concerts, sporting events, family and ice shows, conventions, trade shows and civic events. The arena sits on a 25-acre property; however, the owners are working with the city to develop an additional 35 acres for hotels and office parks, specialized retail stores and restaurants and parks and walking paths.
