Lancaster has a population of 55,000 people and is not only the county seat but the center of the county. For one day in 1777, it was the capital of the United States. Smorgasbord's of Food

Once settled into your Lancaster apartment, you will realize what a food town this is. With a plethora of fresh food available, you may want to cook a lot but don't miss out on places like Shady Maple which has a smorgasbord available at breakfast lunch or dinner. Locals also swear by the Lyndon City Diner, as well as The Lancaster Dispensing Company (yes, it is a restaurant) and Gibraltar for more upscale evenings. The city is literally sprinkled with great dining so have fun checking places out.
