Lake Forest is situated in South Orange County and has a population of just over 78,000 people. It lies inland and is due east from Newport Beach. Portions of the city are master planned communities, it has an upscale lifestyle and is considered in many reports to be one of the safest cities in the country. There are two large man made lakes and that's where the city gets its name. The forest is mostly eucalyptus trees which provides for a beautiful setting. While Amtrak does run through Lake Forest, it is predominantly a car centric region so when you start the search for your Lake Forest apartment, keep parking in mind.

Many locals will swear that World Famous Tommy's is THE place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, but their specialty is burgers so lunch might be best. If you want more upscale, Crush Wine Bar has excellent foods as does Japon OC for some of the top Tokyo sushi anywhere in California.
