    As a resort town located in Southern California, La Quinta has a substantial nightlife, and there are many watering holes to sate your thirst after dark. The La Quinta Resort, for example, is a popular place to enjoy a drink, or head to the Old Wine Cellar for a glass of wine. For brews, try The Beer Hunter, a popular sports bar with an extensive beer selection, or Back Street Brewery, which makes very good craft beer. Most golf courses also have excellent bar facilities. For something not strictly related to alcohol, in nearby Indio is a fantastic music venue called the Empire Polo Club.

    Located in the middle of the desert amidst various national parks, such as Joshua Tree, La Quinta isn't home to any famous museums or exhibitions. While it's not very well known, however, the La Quinta Museum, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. "Jurassic Encounter," the current exhibit, will simulate the time of the dinosaurs. In addition, the Coachella Valley History Museum is located in nearby Indio, California.
