Located due South of Orlando, Florida, Kissimmee is considered a part of the overall Orlando metropolitan area, yet it is a small town with a population of 60,000 people.Originally, a steamship building town, the advent of great railway lines displaced the need for the boats, and Kissimmee gradually became a ranching community. Today, with its close proximity to Disneyworld, Kissimmee is more residential. If smaller pub-like places are more to your liking, definitely check out O'Doherty's Irish Pub or Raglan Road Irish Pub. Both have great eats and friendly bars, and either would be a place to meet new people.
