Texas A&M University,

Texas A&M University, Kingsville brings a certain life and vitality to surrounding community. The large influx of young people is a boost to the town's nightlife and arts scene, and residents also love the opportunity to support the Javelinas, the university's sports teams. To some in Kingsville, football is as important as oxygen, and the university's team always brings out the crowds for its home games. The university boasts an impressive 16:1 student to faculty ratio and enrollees benefit from the extra individual attention they are able to get from professors.

The Kingsville Sympho

The Kingsville Symphony Orchestra proves that the town is more than a cowboy mecca, but is also home to a healthy arts and culture scene. A joint venture between the university and private donors from the community, the symphony has continued to delight visitors of all ages. Throughout the concert season, the orchestra will put on some shows which fit into a traditional conception of classical music and others that push the boundaries and keep things exciting. For example, the symphony will often pay tribute to popular musicians from other genres such as jazz or rock.
