Music and Racing Lege
The Charlie Daniels Band, James Taylor, and Nina Simone are just a few of the singers and musicians with ties to North Carolina showcased at the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. Exhibits include clothing worn during concerts, photos and videos, musical instruments, and much more. NASCAR fans have a place to revisit some of the finest moments in auto racing history at The Curb Museum for Motorsports and Music. This museum is home to the No. 2 car driven by Dale Earnhardt during his 1980 championship season, and the No. 43 car Richard Petty drove for his 199th win.
To say that there is an abundance of delicious food choices in Kannapolis is no exaggeration. Get out of your weekday morning slump with breakfast at Forty-Six. The menu has options for vegetarians and gluten-free foods along with standard fare such as frittatas. For a quick, tasty sandwich, visit Sweet Pickle Bakery & Delicatessen. The club sandwiches are stacked high, and the oatmeal pie alone is worth the visit. If it is barbecue you want, have a seat at Varsity Bar-B-Q & Ice Cream. One plate piled with pulled pork, hushpuppies, coleslaw, and crinkle-cut fries later, and you will definitely be back.
