Sound the bell. Jessup is in the state of Maryland and almost 8,000 folks call it “home.” The city covers roughly 4 square miles of land. Average temperatures here can get up to around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and fall down to about 30 in the winter. It does snow here, and snowfall is slightly higher than the national average in the winter with averages falling around 7 inches.

Bob’s BMW Motorcycles has been in Jessup since 1981 and they do more than sell motorcycles. You can head to Bob’s for free, hot, coffee (sweet) or hit ‘em up on Saturday for free donuts. (Ultra sweet.) They also throw some special events throughout the year to get people hanging out, happy, and yup, gawking and yearning for those shiny, beautiful bikes.

Oh, snap. Are you ready for this one? Hold onto your horses for Bennett’s Curse Haunted Attractions. Did you get the chills? This is Maryland’s “Must See Halloween Event” and it’s no joke. House of the Vampires, Zombie Kingdom 3D, Sanctuary of Insanity, do those sound like jokes to you? Don’t think so. The joint is on Max Blobs Park Road at Blobs Park. Seriously. Scary. Check them out…if you dare. Or at least click on the link if you want to hear some scary music and see some cool computer torches.

Jessup folks sure do like their scary. Monster Mini Golf takes your granny’s sweet, ‘ol innocent miniature golf and turns it on its headless horseman with, AH! Monsters. Look, if you can’t handle scary Jessup, maybe you should just head to the Green Meadows Petting Farm, okay? This is a great place for families, farm animals, and fun. And there’s absolutely nothing scary about it. Except that farmer with fangs. Just kidding folks.

All Around Town

Your new apartment could be only about 15 miles from Baltimore, so you’ve got easy access to this big city. In the mood for crab cakes? You’re in luck. Want to catch an Orioles game? No problem. Feel like checking out some fish at the National Aquarium? Sure. Washington D.C. is also completely doable for a commute as well - it’s only about 25 miles away. Score. So anytime you feel like heading over to the Smithsonian, catching a musical at the Kennedy Center, or even if you just have a hankering to stare at Abe Lincoln sitting in that large chair, you can do it all.
