Jeffersonville locals love spending a relaxing afternoon by the Ohio River at Charlestown State Park. Once a part of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, the park is now given over for locals to enjoy. Deep valleys and stony hills provide excellent hiking for all who want to get some exercise while viewing nature's beauty. You can explore the park's 15,000 acres via a dozen miles of trails that traverse the park, ranging from moderate to quite rugged. There is plenty of other fun to be had in the park, camping and fishing being two of the most popular activities.
Discovery Science Cam
Jeffersonville kids can spend an exciting summer learning about science at the Discovery Science Camp, a science summer camp for young children. As part of a collaboration between the county 4H program and the Purdue University Science, Engineering, and Technology Program the science camp provides multi-day classes on a variety of topics like robotics, general chemistry, and basic rocket building. Campers get to work as a team to perform science experiments and do creative science projects together. With new science topics every week you could come to camp again and again and always learn something new.
