With a population of under 4,000, Jasper is a small town in Pickens County. Located near the southern border of the Chattahoochee National Forest, Jasper is ideal for those that enjoy the outdoors, since the park has 750,502 acres of land where opportunities for camping and hiking abound. In addition, to the northwest of Jasper is the Johns Mountain Wildlife Management Area, providing more options for nature lovers. Jasper is also located 50 miles north of Atlanta, allowing Jasper residents to enjoy small town life while remaining close enough to easily access the benefits of a larger metropolitan area.
Is the cost of living in Jasper higher relative to surrounding areas or other cities?
Compared to the rest of the country, the cost of living in Jasper is 4 percent lower than the US average. Marble Hill to the southeast is 2 percent cheaper than Jasper, and Tate to the south is 5 percent cheaper than Jasper.
