The Audubon Center is committed to connecting the people of Jamestown with the local environment. Through hosting educational events, wildlife viewings, and other recreational programs, it hopes to teach the public about the importance of nature and man's environmental responsibility. Walk among the center's five miles of trails that weave throughout its 600-acre wetland preserve. Or browse the three-story nature center, full of unique exhibits and interactive displays that will engage visitors of every age. The center also houses a non-releasable bald eagle named Liberty who makes appearances at events to the thrill of many.
Lucy Desi Center for
In honor of Jamestown's most famous resident, Lucille Ball, the Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy was created. Its mission is to preserve the legacy of this famous comedy duo, while enriching the community through the power of comedy and laughter. Within the center is the Lucy-Desi Museum, which is full of artifacts and memorabilia related to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. This is a must-see for all "I Love Lucy" fans. The center also hosts a variety of comedic and historical events that are fun for the whole family, such as Lucy-Desi Days in May and Lucille Ball's Birthday in August.
