Get answers about Haltom City from local experts or tell us what you love about it.

  • I've got dogs. What are the best places in Haltom City for being outdoors with pets?

One of the best places for being outdoors with dogs in Haltom City is the city's off-leash dog park. Gateway Ball Dog Park has separate areas for small and large dogs, picnic stations, watering fountains for humans and dogs, and waste bags. There are other parks in Haltom City where you can bring your pets, such as Haltom Rd Park, Little Fossil Park, and Fossil Creek Park, but dogs must be kept on leash in these areas. One of the largest parks in the region is North Park, located on the north side of the city and adjacent to North Richland Hills City Park. Lake Worth Lake and Eagle Mountain Lake to the west also provide some green space.

  • Are there any quiet neighborhoods in Haltom City?

Yes. Denton Hwy / Glenview Dr is one of Haltom City's quieter neighborhoods. With mostly single-family, smaller homes, this neighborhood lies on the northeastern corner of the city. There are a few parks and lakes in the area also. It is, however, still urban in terms of population density, so it's not as quiet as most suburban or rural areas would be.

  • I'm relocating. What's the weather like in Haltom City?

According to the Koppen climate classification system, Haltom City has a humid subtropical climate. This means that Haltom City experiences hot summers and cold winters, while seasons in between are less extreme. Although the hottest month of the year is July, with an average maximum temperature of 96 degrees Fahrenheit, summer temperatures tend to be in the 80s. And, although the coldest month of the year is January, with an average minimum temperature of 31 degrees Fahrenheit, winter temperatures tend to be in the 40s. Haltom City receives about 38 inches of evenly distributed precipitation annually. Its position in North Texas also makes Haltom City susceptible to supercell thunderstorms, which produce large hail and, sometimes, tornadoes.
