Balloons and Tunes

Hot air balloons are always fun to watch. Add in some live music and you could not ask for more. Grove City hosts an annual hot air balloon festival called Balloons and Tunes, which is a great way to get out and learn all about hot air balloons. The festival offers a chance to take a tethered balloon ride, as well as a beautiful balloon glow ascension in the evening. Throughout the day, you can enjoy live music, children's activities, inflatable bounce houses, and live balloon ascensions. There is also the annual Up and Away 5K, which is a walk/run that takes place during the morning balloon ascension.

Experience History

Immerse yourself in the history of Grove City by experiencing the Encapment, which usually takes place every year in June. The city brings history to life at this free event. Visitors to the Encapment will be able to speak with re-enactors who represent all different walks of life from the years spanning the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. You can see soldiers marching in military drills and also get some hands-on learning on how to throw a tomahawk or discharge a long rifle. Visit a blacksmith and forge, or tour an old schoolhouse, log crib barn, or log cabin.
