Gresham Art Walk is a friendly community-driven event that displays the culture and art of the regional spirit. More than 140 artists from Oregon and southwest Washington come to Gresham along Main Avenue between First and Fifth Streets to showcase and sell their original works. The impressive variety of artwork includes garden art, pottery, photography, jewelry, watercolors, glass, textiles, oil paintings, wood, crafts, and more that make great home accent pieces as well as one-of-a-kind gift ideas for the important people in your life. In addition to artistic eye candy and craft goods, this family event also includes live music, children’s activities, and shops and restaurants in the Gresham Downtown district that highlights the city’s culture, art, and pizazz.

Founded in 1976 by a group of volunteers enthusiastic about preserving the history of Gresham, the Gresham Historical Society has since then expanded and is now a full-fledged nonprofit organization with the support of over 300 individuals and businesses. The Gresham History Museum has wonderful exhibits that display the rich history of Gresham and educates the community of the historical importance and cultural depth of the city and surrounding area. In addition to exhibitions and artifact collections, the Gresham Historical society also holds several events including guided walking tours of historic Downtown Gresham, the Story Sharing Project, and poetry talks that appeal to visitors and residents of all ages.

Take a Class at Mount

Mount Hood Community College is a large public community college offers classes at a 212 acre campus and enrolls over 26,000 students each year. The college offers a plethora of applicable classes, including nursing, funeral science, integrated media, automotive technology, and other in-demand trade professionals. The college is known for its wonderful jazz performance programs in the Spring, Summer, and Fall and also offers many resources to the students and to the community. The college planetarium and the public rock wall are just two of the many facilities Mount Hood Community College contributes to the residents of the city of Gresham.
