Shipwreck Cove Waterp

Most people know that South Carolina gets downright steamy in the late spring and summer months, and while taking a stroll around a beautiful city park may sound like a relaxing notion, it is not very refreshing. Beat the heat by spending the day at the Shipwreck Cove Waterpark. With plenty of hair-raising water slides, puddles to play in, wading pools for the parks littlest visitors and space to spread out and have a little lunch, Shipwreck Cove makes for a great little afternoon escape. The park opens in May and closes in the early fall.

Greer Heritage Museum

One of the most treasured features of Small Town America is the fascinating web of histories that you will find throughout the country, and Greer is no exception. With a settlement history dating back to the 1760s, and a history with indigenous people's dating much further back than that, the Greer Heritage Museum offers visitors a window into the past of this booming town. History buffs will love the library of genealogical research, and combined classroom and theater that provides a venue for documentaries about the region. The museum also features several unique activities designed for children.
