The C.M. Russell Muse
C.M. Russell is known as one of the greatest artists who worked primarily with Western themes, and the eponymous C.M. Russell Museum is where you will find the biggest collection of his work anywhere. Russell was one of the first Western artists who lived and worked almost entirely in the West, spending the majority of his life in his native Montana. In addition to Russell's work, the museum collection has works from other Western artists as well as a fine collection of Browning firearms. The museum also strives to educate locals and visitors alike with an array of classes for all ages.
An Outdoorsman's Drea
Great Falls is a hunting and fishing paradise, with wilderness all around and easily accessible. Fly fishing is, of course, a beloved pastime in Great Falls, with no shortage of good fishing water provided by the Missouri River and surrounding quiet streams. Great Falls also has a good number of fishing guides who can help find the perfect place to make your cast. The folk of Great Falls have great hunting options available to them as well, with a number of hunting guides and outfitters operating in town who are happy to help you bag elk, antelope, and bighorn sheep.
Montana State Fair
The folk of Great Falls get to experience the best their state has to offer every year at the Montana State Fair. One of the biggest attractions is of course the Big Sky Pro Rodeo Roundup, where pro rodeo riders thrill the crowds with feats of Western derring-do. Local kids are always happy to check out the Mighty Thomas Carnival, which has enough rides and games to keep everyone entertained. Package that together with live music, tasty food, comedy shows, and tractor pulls, and you can see that the state fair has something for everyone in Great Falls.
