Local Hiking Trails
From the city of Granger, you can take a short drive to beautiful Calumet Trail, a beautiful location which is about an hour's travel by car, borders Lake Michigan and features the Cowles Bog and an 8,000 year-old marsh. The beautiful and paved 10 mile Prairie Duneland Trail is out a few more miles, east away from the lake where you can see remnants of the old hardwood trees and prairieland that existed before town and city settlement in the area. Don't forget to check out a few of the state parks that line Lake Michigan where Indiana Dunes awaits you!

There are five public private elementary schools each in Granger itself and a quality education for young children is clearly a priority in this town. You will not have to search far and wide for a top-notch institution, as many are right in town. Discovery Middle School ranked especially high on test scores in English/Language Arts and math compared to the national average. Once you settle in Granger, you can be sure your children will receive a quality education right in town.
