Parks of Any Size

There are outdoor parks aplenty in and around Goshen, all with different attractions and different sizes. While you may want to take a scenic stroll through the 60 acres of Abshire Park, you might want to take the kids to Bakersfield or Burdick for their play structures. The Larry Beachy Classified Forest offers scheduled tours of the 23 tree species located on its grounds and you can gaze upon the seven acres of open water at Linway before or after a trip at the nearby shopping center. For sports, check out Model School Park, which has tennis courts and also an open field.

Sports Leagues

Organized by the city's parks and recreation department and coached by community professionals, Goshen's Volleyball and Basketball sports leagues are a great way to meet people and break a sweat while you're at it. Practices conveniently work around work and school schedules to allow more willing participants the opportunity to play. There are differently ranked and coed or men's leagues, depending on how competitive you want to get with your new acquaintances, as well as organized tournaments to allow you to flex your exhibition muscles. These competitions bring the community together and encourages participants to step outside their comfort zones as well.
