Hiking in Mountain Co

Golden is ringed around by mountains and natural parks, making it a paradise for those who love getting into the out-of-doors. There are a number of quick day hikes available where you can catch a glimpse of local wildlife, beautiful scenic vistas, and old cabins that speak to the history of the region. If you prefer to travel further off the beaten path then you will not be disappointed: Golden Gate Canyon state park is right nearby and offers miles of pristine wilderness to go camping in. There are regular campgrounds and cabins available, or you can rough it with some backcountry camping.

Colorado School of Mi

The Colorado School of Mines is a strong link in the chain between the state's history of mining and its economic future. Well known for its engineering and applied science programs, the school focuses on training its students to become experts on energy and the environment. The school works together with government agencies and private companies to be sure that students have access to both the best equipment and experience in the field and also the connections needed to get ahead in the mining and applied Earth sciences business. The School of Mines combines size of a small school with a rigorous research environment.
