Freeport Public Schoo

Freeport families can depend on the Freeport public school system to provide their children with a top-notch education. Freeport students dependably get into some of the best universities, including Cornell University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and New York University. The system has helped pioneer a number of education concepts that have gone on to widespread use, concepts like using magnet schools and tailoring teaching to match each student's individual learning style. High schoolers in Freeport benefit from a science research program partnership with SUNY at Stony Brook, giving students a chance to experience a high-level science education.

Milburn Pond Park

Freeport locals can take a load off and put their feet up at Milburn Pond Park and the adjoining Milburn Creek Park. The Nassau County Parks Department makes sure that both parks are always clean and in good condition. Both parks are relaxing spaces, with a trail around Milburn Pond that makes for a pleasant stroll and benches overlooking the pond if you want to rest. Milburn Creek Park includes a half-mile walking and jogging trail for light exercise. There is a boat launch at the lower end of the park, one of the first constructed for public use by the county.
