While many residents might go into the city for more upscale or fine dining, it would be a huge mistake to ignore the delicious offerings available right in Forestville. History and demographics mean that there is a large Southern influence at many local hotspots. Some say that the Golden Skillet serves some of the best fried chicken around. Throughout Maryland, you will find a dedicated population of crab leg connoisseurs and Forestville is no exception. Local crab foodies flock to the many seafood and crab restaurants in the area, a popular one being Mid Atlantic Seafood, which even offers an "All You Can Eat" option.
A Community of the Fa
For a community of its size, religious life in Forestville is astounding. Without exception the churches are as involved in the larger community as they are in the lives of their members. One of the larger congregations in the area is the Forestville Redeemer Baptist Church that is housed in a modern and large building near the center of town. There is also the Mt. Calvary Catholic church, which runs a religious school for grades K-12. Another option is the Freedom Church, a nondenomenational Christian chuch, where alternative forms of devotion are encouraged, such as dance and drama.
