Forest Park locals need not search far for a good education when Clayton State University is right nearby. The university's student body is exceptionally diverse, and that is hardly the only thing that helps students prepare for the future: The university ensures that every student has access to the information technology they need to succeed both in school and after graduation. The university is also adjacent to state and national archives, making it a Mecca for researchers. There is plenty on offer outside the academic sphere as well. The university hosts one of the best chamber music spaces in the nation at Spivey Hall.
Reynolds Nature Prese
Whenever the folk of Forest Park need a break from city living they can easily find solace and relaxation at Reynolds Nature Preserve, a pristine swath of nature right in the south end of town. The 146-acre preserve maintains the rolling hills of the area in their natural state, covered in oak and pine forest. Three miles of hiking trails provide plenty of exercise for visitors, but that is not all. The preserve provides a glimpse into the past with old farm equipment and buildings preserved for posterity. The preserve also runs programs so that community members can learn about the natural world.
