Running Aces In Nearby Columbus
Seriously...how many places have this to offer? Well, it's only ten minutes away by care. Running Aces Harness Park is part racetrack, part casino (or 'card room' as they seem to like to say) and luxury restaurant. They host races, gambling tournaments, poker leagues, large banquets and buffets, live music, comedy and variety shows. From what I understand, it's not like jockey's riding the horses, but instead the horses pull little carts or something...like Ben-Hur style, more or less. It's the only professional harness park in Minnesota, and probably quite the spectacle. I'm not sure I've ever heard of such a thing, anywhere, ever, to be honest. Their kitchen is renown and specializes in classic American and Italian food, with an emphasis on seafood, steaks, chops and ribs. Vegetarians are allowed in, for them salads are also available.
