The Riverwalk and Riv
The Flint River snakes through Flushing, crossing Main Street just west of Maple and north of the entrance to the Riverwalk, one of the community's favorite running, biking, hiking, and walking paths. This scenic trail follows the river south of Main Street Bridge to Riverview Park and beyond. While smaller than Flushing County Park, which is located north of downtown, Riverview has its merits, including the band shell amphitheater, which plays host to the annual Flushing Concerts in the Park Series. The park's open layout and proximity to downtown make it a perfect venue for community gatherings like socials, city picnics, and small festivals.
Fandangles' has held the top spot for fine dining in the county for decades and serves delectable fare to suite any tastes. Classic decor, intimate seating arrangements, sparkling chandeliers, and exceptional service are the benchmarks that have earned this restaurant numerous awards and recognitions, including Wine Spectator magazine's Award of Excellence for several years running. Be sure to make reservations and do not be afraid to make special requests as the chef is more than happy to accommodate special dietary needs. Fandangles' actively supports the local arts culture, so be on the lookout for monthly art open house and artist's reception announcements.
